Bread of Happiness

i've been looking forward to watching this movie and was so happy to find it here.  it's a lot like the movie めがね to me (which is another favourite of mine), but still holds its own uniqueness in beauty and simplicity.  しあわせのパン takes places in the mountainous countryside of Hokkaido, Japan, with an easy-going Nordic-like lifestyle of cooking and crafts.  

with an array of colourful characters introduced throughout the four seasons, this film shows different types of relationships that cross paths with this cafe' and the healing powers of homemade bread.  actually, this film seemed more like a lullaby to me from it's dreamlike scenario and the fact that the premise of the story is derived from a children's picture book.  

but really, this movie makes me want to do two things: bake my own bread, and visit Hokkaido!  i think everyone has a secret desire to open up their own cafe, and this movie really does have the perfect dream cafe.  hmmm... how nice that would be, huh?  いいな〜
