太陽の塔 (taiyo no to)

Tower of the Sun, created by Japanese artist Taro Okamoto. it stands 70 metres tall (about 230 ft. high) and 25 metres across (82 ft. arm to arm), in the Expo Commemoration Park in Osaka, Japan. the 3 faces each have their own meaning: the top face represents the future, the front represents the present, and the back shows the sun of the past (and the red paintings on the side symbolize thunder).

i wanted to share this with you all, not only because it has an intense magical beauty to it, but weirdly enough, i have had several dreams about it! i have never seen this tower in person before, or even been to Osaka . . . but i guess the image of it is so powerful in my mind that i continually dream of it.

in my dreams, the Tower of the Sun is usually moving on its own, across the ocean and on land. it isn't harming anything or anyone in it's path . . . it just travels. i wonder what my dreams mean?

Dear Aron, i spent my last two weeks reading your blog, discovering greats films (yesterday, i watched Glasses, it was a really poetic moment for me; after the film, i felt very calm;now, i try to find Rinco's restaurant on line), greats artits and photographers. This experience give me a new energy to paint; so thank you for your blog and your work!

I feel the same way Babette Aron makes me so happy.

Aron, the dream is very positive and I think it speaks of your great love for Japan and your need to be there, particularly now.

What a great sculpture. For some reason I really want to give it a hug?

wow, this is beyond amazing. It's a bit haunting actually. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before.
