view from above

Gibraltar, where Europe meets Africa
Tokyo at night
the Southern lights
the Sahara Desert
Spanish Coastline
Seychelles
Oahu, Hawaii (my home!)
i can see where i live!
Mt. Fuji, Japan
Italy at night
Geneve, Switzerland
Greece

i love these snapshots of various places on earth. it's such a great perspective to see things from above and how small and beautiful things can be. every time i am sad about something, i like to think of "the bigger picture" and the world and universe in general. it's a good way to snap out of it and realize how insignificant and unimportant your problems are when everything else is so much bigger than your existence.

these photos were taken by astronauts Soichi Noguchi and Douglas H. Wheelock. you can see more on their twitter pages.

(ps: this song, and the rest of the 'Au Revoir Taipei' soundtrack has been making me feel so much lighter. its a sweet and funny movie! i recommend it :-)

They are so lucky could see something like this for real. Seychelles looks beautiful, like a watercolor painting. And the southern lights is a perfection <3

Tokyo looks like a matrix/ghost in the shell movie.

i remember when i went back from Bali at night, Outside the plane is very beautiful, lot of lights, like the Italy one.

& thank you for the recommendation, i would love to see it ;-)

ps: "it's a good way to snap out of it and realize how insignificant and unimportant your problems are when everything else is so much bigger than your existence." i like this statement :-)

Whoa, those are amazing. Especially Toyko...what a beautiful spiderweb-like quality that photograph has...and Italy, like a star-studded sky.

nice post! breath taking pics!

i do that to: every time i'm down, i like to think about the bigger picture...i think it's healthy to remind myself that my problems don't really mean anything in the great scheme of things. :)

Tokyo and Italy look magical from above! I think cities look especially beautiful at night.

I saw Au Revoir Taipei after seeing your postscript. I finished watching the movie several hours ago but I am still in a grinning mood. :)
